Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury

Qualification: Master Degree in Sociology from the University of Dhaka.
Experience: Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury , is one of the prominent microfinance leaders in the world, is the Founder and President of ASA, one of the largest MFIs in the world. As of May 31, 2016, ASA covers 6.1 million poor households and 7.3 million members in Bangladesh through a sustainable program of providing cost-effective financial services. ASA is known globally as the most cost-effective and exponential growth lead organization. The Asian Development Bank termed the ‘ASA Model’ as the ‘Henry Motor Model of Microfinance’. He also co-founded Catalyst Microfinance Investors (“CMI”) and ASA International Holding (“ASAI”), both registered in Mauritius as an equity investment company and holding company for accelerating the development of microfinance in Asia and Africa. ASAIH is now operating its microfinance operation in 13 countries in Asia and Africa. He is serving as Chairman in all these three organizations. Besides this, he served as a faculty member of Microfinance training in Boulder, USA and was also a visiting fellow in Coady Institute at the Saint Xavier University. Completely out of these surroundings, he also served as Former Advisor in the cabinet of Caretaker Government of Bangladesh (2006-2007) equivalent to ministerial position in-charge of Agriculture, Youth & Sports and Cultural Affairs.
Mohammed. Azim Hossain

Qualification: Having Master’s degree from University of Dhaka and a Diploma in Project Management from Denmark
Experience: In year, 1984 joined ASA Bangladesh and performed the role of director of Finance and MIS since 1992.
Heading the ASA NGO Partnership Build-up Program, that supports small NGOs/MFIs through giving financial and technical support.
Having an immense experience in product development and lending methodology in microfinance sector, financial management, accounting system design, business planning, financial forecasting and performing analysis.
Provided consultancy to numerous MFIs of different countries such as Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Philippines, Yemen, Cambodia and Indonesia.
Remained a part of UNDO Micro Start program in the Philippines and Nigeria.
His participation in various training courses and workshops in the countries like USA, Denmark, The Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Thailand, Japan, United Kingdom and Malaysia is also worth mentioning.
Md. Enamul Haque

Qualification: Having Master’s degree from University of Dhaka in Social Science.
Experience: Working as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in ASA International.
Previously led team in UNDP/MSP project in Nigeria for six month. Provided consultancy for Save the Children (USA) in Jordan for three month and UNDP/MSP project in the Philippines for one month.
Worked as consultant in Kashf Foundation for three months and Bank of Kaiber for 15 day in Pakistan.
He is specialized in designing products, operation related system development, MIS and format development, business development. He also monitors and supervise manual write up, market feasibility study, institutional capacity building and trainers etc.
Mr. Anjan Dasgupta
(Managing Director of ASAI India)
Qualification: Having a graduation degree from Mumbai University in Finance.
Experience: Hardcore finance and Banking Professional.
Working as Managing Director of ASA India. Having a immense 30 years experience in the sectors such as Banking, Finance and Microfinance. Previously worked as CFO in Saija, Bihar. The largest state grown Microfinance NBFC, jointly owned by ACCION, USA. Previous to joining this sector he was the Managing Director of a bank in Sikkim.
Has an extensive understanding of Microfinance, Livelihood interventions.His experience also includes revival of financial troubled banks and financial organizations.
Mr. Asish Singh
Nominee Director of ASAI India
Qualification: Post Graduate in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and B.E. in Electronics from Mumbai University.
Experience: Asish Singh, is Executive Vice President and part of the leadership team of Bharat Banking, the rural banking business of IDFC Bank. He holds dual responsibility for the business P&L delivery through the branch network and strategic alliances as well as the role of Product Head for the asset business of Bharat Bank.
Asish has over 17 years of experience in the retail banking and financial services sector with particular focus on rural markets. Prior to joining IDFC Bank, Ashish has been associated with key organizations like Fullerton India and ICICI Bank. During his decade long stint at Fullerton India, he was instrumental in the strategic evaluation, inception and growth of the rural business (Gramshakti) for the organization.
Ms. Dolly Guha
Independent Director of ASAI India.
Qualification: M.A. in Psychology from Delhi University & M.Ed. from Jammu University.Pursuing Ph.D. from Delhi University and was awarded Research Scholarship by Govt.
Experience: Joined as Probationary Officer in State Bank of India in 1987. In the year 2007 she was been awarded as Best Manager for being one of the best performers in Bengal Circle. She was also the Chairperson of the Committee on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace for entire Bengal Circe of State Bank of India from 2007 to 2012. In the year 2013, she retired voluntarily as Assistant General Manager.
Mr. Ashim Kumar Roy
Independent Director of ASAI India.
Qualification: M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from Dhaka University.
Experience: Served in Agrani Bank as Probationary Officer from 1973 to 1976. After qualifying in Bangladesh Civil Services (BCS), Mr. Roy joined Taxation Cadre in 1977 and served as Asst. Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Addl. Commissioner and Commissioner of Taxes. In the year 2003, Mr. Roy joined National Board of Revenue (the highest body of making tax policy in Bangladesh) as its member (Taxes). After retirement in the year 2004, he established a Tax Consultancy Firm and rendering professional services as Tax Advisor of different financial institutions including Banks, Insurance Companies, NGO’s and big business houses.
